easyJet 2020/21 Schedules

For whenever we get permission to attend games at Goodison again, it’s worth noting that the level of service offered by easyJet is currently well below what we have been used to since their arrival on the Belfast/Liverpool route in 1999…

  • on Saturdays, there are currently generally only two or three flights on Saturdays and, after 17th October, there are no Saturday evening flights until April.

  • on Sundays, there are currently generally three or four flights on Sundays; with the first one being at 7.00am until 18th October, then 3.15pm until January, and then at 7.15am.

…obviously, this situation may change if the pandemic subsides, football returns and the general demand for travel increases.

Chelsea (away): Sunday, 8th March

ESCNI will have five people at Sunday's game at Chelsea.

The current weather forecast is for light showers with sunny intervals, and a temperature of 11°C.

*Pick is a free-to-air television channel, owned by Sky. It is available on Freeview (Channel 11), Sky (Channel 159), Freesat (Channel 144) and Virgin Media (Channel 165).

Amazon Prime Video

This season, for the first time, Amazon Prime Video will show live Premier League games; it has viewing rights for two rounds of matches (for which flights are already bookable):

  • 3rd to 5th December (midweek) …Everton are away to Liverpool

  • 26th/27th December (Boxing Day) …Everton are at home to Burnley

However, although Amazon has indicated that it is going to show all 20 games live, at this stage, it is unclear if it is going to show these matches simultaneously, concurrently, or a combination of both.

It is also unclear when Amazon is going to confirm the dates/kick‑off times of these Premier League games. The date for the announcement is currently set for approximately 11th October; however there is no reason why their games could not be announced earlier.

It should also be noted that any games selected for transmission on Thursday 5th December or Friday 27th December would have a knock on effect on games currently scheduled for Saturday 7th December and Saturday 28th December respectively. In Everton’s case, these would be a home game against Chelsea and an away game at Newcastle respectively.

Sunday Evenings

Next season, the late Sunday televised games will normally kick off at 4.30pm.

This, together with any VAR delays, will mean that it will be even tighter to catch the last Sunday flight home, at: 8.40pm (until late October) and 8.20pm (late October to late March).

Premier League TV Deal 2019/22

For the first time, entire rounds of Premier League matches will be shown live under the next broadcast deal. These games will be broadcast in midweek and on Bank Holidays.

The 2019 season will also herald the advent of regular Saturday night Premier League football, with eight 7.45pm matches per season on offer under the three-year contract.

The league will make 200 of its 380 matches a year available, 42 more than at present, with three rounds of midweek and one of Bank Holiday games accounting for all but two of the additional fixtures.

Pay-Per-View

The Premier League had launched (on 17th October) a new pay-per-view service for those five games each weekend not already selected for TV viewing.

Sky Sports and BT Sport briefly ran this new service and it cost £14.95 per game to view each of those extra matches.

However, due to widespread criticism, this service has been suspended until at least the New Year. Most of the additional fixtures will now be shown live on Sky and BT Sport, but some will be broadcast on Amazon Prime and free-to-air on the BBC.

Premier League 2020/21 Fixtures

The Premier League fixtures for Season 2020/21 have been released. The first batch of confirmed (televised and untelevised) fixtures, covering a yet to be advised period, will be announced in due course.

However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it is highly likley that only limited numbers of spectators will be permitted to attend matches for the forseeable future. Currently, the rumour is that Everton will permit 7,000 supporters to be allowed inside Goodison Park from the start of October; with these 7,000 places being decided by a ballot of season ticket holders (ESCNI has 10 season tickets).

Consequently, due to the likely shortage of match tickets, we would not advise any of our members to book flights until things become much clearer.

(updated 20 Aug)

Remember, updated fixture information on all home games is available from our password-protected Flight Prices webpage; and we also text out to our members immediately we know that the dates of the games have been confirmed.

In order to receive our text information immediately, take out an ESCNI membership via our Membership webpage.
